I am a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have worked as a counsellor for 15 years. During this time, I have gained considerable experience when working with a wide range of issues in various settings including the Health Service, GP surgeries and Dyfed Powys Police. I have also worked as a counsellor for Cruse Bereavement Care, Carmarthenshire Counselling Service and Women's Aid. More recently I have specialised and work extensively with substance misuse, working both on a one to one basis and group programmes using a CBT approach.
I tailor my approach to meet the needs of the individual, offering a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings, on what might have brought you to counselling. I work very much from an Integrated counselling background, drawing on different approaches, helping you gain more insight and understanding as to where you might be experiencing difficulties in your life. The sessions are very much paced according to your needs.
I am a fully insured member of the British Psychological Society and hold an enhanced certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB). As part of my ongoing professional development, I attend regular training and supervision. I adhere to the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy at all times.
