About me
Thank you for taking the time to read and visit my profile today.
I have had previous counselling experience myself in the past and have been through a similar process and place to where you find yourself today.
I truly appreciate this big step you are taking in looking for sessions with a counsellor/therapist, also navigating and looking through my profile and what I can offer you as my potential client.
I wanted to start by asking if you are finding yourself more overwhelmed in life, not coping like you have done or did before, stressing yourself out more by feeling higher levels of negative less positive emotions and feelings, maybe you’re not sleeping and overthinking everything.
Do you find you are no longer coping or managing like you were able to or could do before, maybe you are recognising there’s always been a struggle to.
If you recognise any of these or maybe there’s more coming up for you, to take a moment to think about how these have been, how they’re having an impact on how you live, think, feel, and respond or behave, or maybe you find you shut down and can’t respond or react back, how these are also impacting on how you feel about and see yourself or how they may impact on the relationships you have with the people around you.
Are you now finding things harder, as a result of these, not able to find any joy, calmness, laughter, love, fulfilment or happiness in your life, without experiencing all of the above, i can only imagine how that is or could possibly feel like for you, do you now want to stop these past and current cycles of behaviour and thinking to find new healthier more positive ways to find what you need to cope better, which can enable you to find the happiness back in to your life or maybe you are reading this and feel you want to do it for the first time.
If any of this sounds familiar to you or if you feel you can answer YES to any of these questions, how it describes how you have felt or how you do feel right now, let’s talk it out together, you can do this by booking yourself in for your free consultation session.
Working with me, we will look at all that is presenting to you, we will explore what you have been impacted by and what you are experiencing in life, let me help and support you to find more healthier happier ways to live going forward, which will be in a different way to how you have been living before, let’s talk it out together.
You can do this by picking up the phone and giving me a call or you can email me to book yourself in and tell me all about what is going on and how it is impacting on you, also what you are looking for from me as a counsellor and from our sessions.
After we will book in with each other to have an initial telephone call (These are usually around 10 minutes long) we can then arrange a convenient date for us to book you in for your free consultation session.
This session provides the opportunity for us to both meet each other, and I can also learn more about you and what you feel you need help and support with going forward and get some background details/information from you.
If you feel ready and want to book in for future sessions, we will then arrange a convenient date to book you in for your counselling sessions to start, we will then agree to meet every week at the same day and time, where we will begin working together in the counselling process where you will begin to trust me, trust the counselling process and most importantly to trust yourself, and begin learning, understanding who you are, what you have experienced, what are your wants and needs, are they changing to what they once were. or have they changed completely, along with lots more exploration and self awareness.
We will also enable focusing over time on gaining more understanding and the more confidence when using new tools to manage, and new ways to begin living a more happier, fulfilled life, with your focus changing to making yourself be the main priority of your own life.
We will work together exploring what is impacting on you in the present moment, so you can recognise, know what it is you need and be able to manage better in your life to put these things in place to enable the change to happen.
Working with you through these times, means helping and supporting you to recognise and work out what it is you really want for yourself, to find new ways to make the changes you need to get what you want out of your life, that you maybe didn’t have before or don’t have right now.
Let me help and support you by working in an Integrative way blending the 3 core approaches (which are using Person Centred, CBT, Psychodynamic insights), i will be doing this by working mainly with a person centred way as my core approach, which means me and our sessions will be there working for you to use the sessions in whatever way you need to, and feels best for you.
I will be providing you that safe space, where you can feel more confident to explore yourself in much deeper levels, and different focus, so you will learn early on to use these sessions in any way that feels right with and for you, I work without making any assumptions, opinions or judgements, whatever it is you bring to session, is what we will be working with, I will be there to hold whatever you bring and will support and help you work through, I may have observations or make suggestions in sessions but these are only ever based on, relevant to whatever concern, or presenting issue etc you bring to your session.
Whilst I am working with you blending different insights and elements of both CBT and Psychodynamic modalities, I am constantly adapting my ways of working with you, enabling me to continue to work flexibly around you and anything you bring to session, whilst still meeting your individual changing needs.
By working, focusing on only you and working with only your agenda and not mine, I can focus on your presenting areas of concern at all times, meaning you will always be the priority in the work we do together, I am always working at your pace, and time, and we will always be working together by your lead and key areas of focus.
Within our sessions you can continue to focus and explore what is concerning, impacting or worrying you. I do feel when we are in times of difficulty or when something has been upsetting us over a period of time. were begin finding ourselves becoming more stuck in life, suppressing our emotions and feelings and not acknowledging them so they become much bigger and bigger, only showing themselves when we struggle to cope, feeling more overwhelmed and feeling hopelessness, as a ripple effect of these, you begin asking yourself questions, questioning yourself developing negative thinking patterns and then your struggling to have or be able to know the answers to your questions, not knowing how to find a solution.
Which leads on to us then being impacted, not just on our emotional, mental, physical, spiritual well-beings, but on our overall happiness in life too.
Many people when they are experiencing this find they can’t move on in life and begin having, experiencing increasing much higher levels of anxiety, stress and being overwhelmed, and can also experience feelings of despair, this is when feel counselling and talking therapy can really help you, not just to open up and think about what’s going on, but also by talking and exploring in our sessions, you are also beginning to understand what it is impacting you, and how.
I do also feel this enables you to in turn to begin the process of working through what it is you need to do on your life, so you can find the answers to the questions.
I always say to my clients how you will look to your counsellors/therapists to have all the answers, but I believe the answers to your questions all lie within you, as you know yourselves better than anyone else and even if we have forgotten or maybe have lost our way, we can always reconnect or connect if it’s for the first time, back to ourselves and find new healthier ways to live a more happier fulfilled life, and also we can have more healthier well balanced relationships with the people around us.
Let’s talk it out together, making that next step with me means we are working together and finding new ways for these changes to begin.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, training to a level 4, which is the BACP qualified diploma level, I also have 10 years youth work experience working with young adults.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
