About me
Hi, my name is Susie,
Having worked as an NHS counseller and in private practice, I have a wealth of experience working with people from all walks of life covering every topic imaginable. I offer free counseling to carers via the council carer scheme.
I'm easy to talk to warm, non-judgemental and down to Earth. Well done for getting this far with seeking help! Get in touch for a chat on the phone and we can work out what is the best approach for you.
Life is difficult/unbearable sometimes, talking about it and sharing it in a professional setting is proven to help.
I integrate many approaches into your care and together we find a tailored way forward for you. These include:
- Person-centred counselling.
- CBT.
- Transactional Analysis.
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
- Compassion Focused Therapy with Mindfulness.
I can help you overcome many things including;
Anxiety Panic, Worry, Anger, Guilt, Sexual issues and abuse, Depression, Grief, Loss, Loss of a baby, Sadness, Loneliness, Relationship issues, Disputes, Low confidence, self-esteem and mood LGBT. Support while transitioning. Adjustment to life changes.
Life can make us feel very low for many reasons. Knowing you are not alone is the beginning to making the pain or overwhelming feelings bearable. taking these first steps is your first step in sharing the pain and the hurt.
With help, you can go forward taking your past experiences with you as a form of wisdom, not as a form of pain.
Home visits can be arranged in certain circumstances.
"Life is often painful. How come some people can just seem to bounce back? We can all too easily just put up with what's bothering us ignoring our inner feelings and thus never really understanding ourselves or our lives. My strength is my capacity to build relationships, enabling you to feel safe, supported, understood and never judged. Years of knowledge and experience are there to be drawn upon to help you achieve your desire for peace, self-awareness and positive change. Helping you to care for yourself."
The bedrock of my practice comes from the #Rogerianesque' belief that we were all born beautiful unique human beings and even though life has torn through us and made us lose our way AND our selves, under the layers of all those experiences our inner self is still there shinning and just as beautiful as the day we were born waiting to emerge! With help, you can go forward taking your past experiences with you as a form of wisdom, not as a form of pain.
I believe that our behaviour and feelings today are often shaped by our early years or by life and by events happening now. "By looking at these together it is possible to unravel long-established patterns or hurts to find the real you. With support, this inner, bruised you can be nurtured and gently reintroduced to the world. If It feels right sometimes this could be done together by walking in nature or being somewhere in a supported way that has meaning for you".

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
