About me
Walk and Talk - Face to Face - Online
Hi, I'm Susie and I am an integrative counsellor and member of the BACP, that works in a variety of ways to suit every clients needs. I offer Walk and Talk therapy, where sessions are held outside in nature, as well as the more traditional Face to Face sessions, or alternatively online if you'd prefer.
People seek counselling for a wide variety of reasons. Some people know the issues and problems that they are facing and that are causing them stress and pain, others don’t know exactly what the problems are, but perhaps keep finding themselves in situations that feel difficult, unsettling and confusing.
Do you find relationships challenging? Do you feel misunderstood by those around you? Is your home life or job causing you stress? Do you have a particular issue that you want to explore? Do you feel unfulfilled without knowing why? Are you suffering a bereavement? Are you searching for more meaning but don’t know where to start? All these types of questions and uncertainties, when left going around in our minds with no direction, can cause us to feel low, confused, drained, lost and unhappy in day to day life.
A common misconception is that people look to counselling to 'fix' problems and issues they are experiencing. I won’t be looking to fix the problems and issues you share with me in sessions, however, I will support you in finding your own solutions in moving forward if that is what you feel you need.
Walk and Talk sessions are outside in the local countryside close to my private practice in the picturesque village of Farningham. Walking outside during sessions allows us to be supported in our work by nature itself, and offers a beautiful environment in which we can work together. Being able to move around freely during sessions, alter the pace when needed, and experience the beauty of the natural world can enhance your explorations and processing of thoughts and feelings. Fresh air and movement can improve the way we feel almost instantly, and so it makes sense to me to offer sessions in this way.
I also offer Face to Face counselling sessions in my comfortable therapy room in Farningham, for those looking for a more traditional way of working. And for those clients unable to meet in person, I also work online using Zoom which can be more suitable for some clients.
I offer a free, 15 minute phone call initially, to talk briefly about the support you are looking for. If after this you feel you'd like to continue, then we can arrange our first session, which will be an online, and is an opportunity for us to meet and talk in more detail. It also enables us to focus the work going forward and explore how you wish to work.
Our sessions, when we work together, will provide you with a supportive space to explore your thoughts and uncertainties so that you can begin to understand yourself, your life and human behaviours with clarity. As individuals, when we feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted by another person, we can begin to heal and move forward on our journey with a greater sense of who we are. I am happy to be able to offer this to you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
