About me

Change and being your unapologetically authentic self. This discovery led me to become a therapist/counsellor. The starting points of change are self-awareness and acceptance; a powerful words to your own transformation and reaching your full potential.

Therapy sessions will find, rebuild, extend, expand, and aid putting your puzzle pieces together, change narratives that we tell to ourselves or know from external forces and most of all empower you to be your unapologetically authentic self.

By utilizing creative arts such as sand, drawing, and storytelling, therapy provides avenues for clients to express themselves beyond words, tapping into subconscious layers of their being.

The incorporation of breathwork, movement, voice, sound, touch, and meditation further enriches the therapeutic experience, engaging the entire person in the process of growth and self-discovery.

My intuitive and in-the-moment approach allows for dynamic and profound shifts to occur during therapy sessions, fostering moments of insight and revelation for my clients. Through my guidance, individuals are empowered to rewrite their narratives, embrace authenticity, and navigate their journeys towards wholeness with courage and self-compassion.

Holistic approach to therapy emphasizes the nature of healing, recognizing that true wellness encompasses all aspects of a person's being—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. By incorporating a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques, integrative approach aims to address the diverse needs of each individual, fostering a deeper understanding of oneself and promoting self-directed healing and growth.

In essence, being in a therapeutic practice with me embodies a commitment to holistic healing, guided by empathy, intuition, and a profound respect for the inherent wisdom within each individual. By honouring the connection of mind, body, and spirit, therapy empowers individuals to cultivate a deeper sense of awareness, resilience, and wholeness in their lives.

CHILD/YOUNG PEOPLE THERAPY:

During the initial session, I gather essential information about the family's context, support requirements, and goals for therapy. Through open dialogue, we co-create a treatment plan that aligns with the family's preferences and fosters a sense of ownership and investment in the therapeutic journey.

Therapy sessions are on weekly basis while remaining attuned to the unique circumstances and preferences of each family. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of considering parent/child therapy as an option, depending on the specific needs and dynamics present within the family unit.

Subsequent sessions with the child/young person centre on creating a safe space for them to share their story and experiences. By valuing their perspective and agency, I empower them to actively participate in determining the course of their therapy. Together, we explore various therapeutic modalities and interventions, whether it involves individual therapy, family therapy, or collaboration with external services and educational institutions.

My commitment to fostering effective communication and collaboration with schools and other support services demonstrates a holistic approach to addressing the child/young person's needs within their broader social context. Through ongoing assessment, reflection, and adaptation, I strive to optimize the therapeutic process and maximize positive outcomes for the child/young person and their family.

Training, qualifications & experience

TRAINING: Terapia, accredited by Middlesex University

DYADIC THERAPY: This therapy is for a parent/guardian and a child. This is based on relationship building, and strengthening the attachment for the child/young person and parent.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY:

CHILDREN – 0 to 5 years: Therapy is offered to children from infancy, helping parents to bond with their child as well as helping the parent to cope with emotional distress. Play therapy is used on one to one basis.

CHILDREN – 6 to 11 years: Primary school can be challenging for some children and can bring lot of anxiety, negative feelings or change in behaviour. Therapeutic tools are used to communicate with the child and to understand their internal working model.

ADOLESCENTS – 12-18 years: Smooth transition to secondary school with the help of counselling can provide the child with different tools as well as managing emotions and feelings about the transition and change of environment. Young people can become vulnerable at times and therapy will provide them with a safe space to explore their emotional state as well their thoughts.

ADULTS – 18+ years: Therapeutic mediums are also available in adult counselling as it may be hard for some to communicate their deepest thoughts and feelings. Sand is the most common form of communication, where one can explore their wants, needs and subconsciously communicate their world around them.

All therapies involve initial assessment, where an agreement is signed by both parties.

Child/Adolescent Counselling involves:

  • Parent meeting (50 minutes) – Child through the eyes of a parent/guardian; Consent form signing.
  • Child/Young person assessment – using creative arts.
  • Decision if therapy is right for the child/young person. If not, signposting to other services.
  • Therapy commences on weekly or fortnightly basis – agreed by both parties.

GROUP THERAPY: Group therapy is for individuals who would like fortnightly support within group setting. It allows an individual to explore their experiences in safe space with other members of the group.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
