About me

Hello and a warm welcome to my page. My name is Silvia and I am an integrative counsellor. As a client you are unique and with that in mind, I draw from different theoretical approaches to build a tailor-made approach in my work with you.

I understand that life can be challenging at times, and asking for help can be daunting. I offer an empathic, confidential and non-judgemental space for us to explore together the difficulties you are facing.
The relationship we build in the room is the most important aspect of the therapy. During the pandemic, we all have experienced many difficult circumstances and interruptions to normal life without our friends and support around us. You, as the client, are the heart of our work and the real expert in the room. My role is to help you explore your thoughts and feelings to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and your situation so you can move forward.
I work for Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) counselling services working with primary and secondary schools across the borough, a counselling agency called Signpost and I volunteer with the Road Victim Trust Charity. I am now offering private work for all ages.
I offer evenings and Saturday mornings. I am bilingual - I am fluent in Slovakian and Czech language.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have wide experience of working with children, young people and adults experiencing many difficult aspects of life including anxiety, low self-esteem, peer pressure, depression, relationships, stress, trauma, and many other challenges.

· Level 5 Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People

· Diploma Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative)

· Volunteer counsellor for The Road Trust Victims

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
