About me

Perhaps a recent event has brought up complicated feelings, or you live with anxiety, or relationships have been difficult for as long as you can remember. Sometimes it might feel that despite doing everything 'right', you find yourself in familiar patterns. Therapy should feel like a safe space to which you can bring your whole self. My work helps clients understand how their experiences (both past and present) and any unconscious forces might be impacting their relationships and ways of coping with life. Psychodynamic therapy promotes greater self-awareness and a space for you to take each session in the direction which feels most important at the time.

My practice welcomes clients from all backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community and people with cultural and racial differences. I aim to offer a space for clients who wish to explore their identity and its integration into the communities in which they live.

I am a fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I offer weekly face-to-face and online open-ended and time-limited therapy in person and online.

What to expect:

  1. If you'd like to get in touch to discuss working together you can email me to arrange a brief initial phone call (free). If we agree to proceed after this we will schedule a consultation.
  2. The consultation appointment will be in part an assessment of concerns and requirements and an exploration of what brings you to therapy now. Research shows that a primary factor in successful outcomes is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. In this session, we can discuss how we can best work together. Alternatively, I can arrange a suitable referral.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
