About me
Hello and welcome.
My name is Sian from MindBody Therapy Service.
I am a fully Accredited and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and also a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
I am also trained in other therapy modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other mindfulness based therapies such as Compassion Focused Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I work in an integrative way, drawing on the above therapy approaches, so that I can best meet your needs and aims during therapy.
I work with adults and teens aged 14+ within the Brighton and Hove area and Online who may be feeling Anxious, Depressed, struggling with Low self-esteem, experiencing PTSD/ cPTSD, Trauma, Grief/ Bereavement, Stress, life transitions or living with a long-term health condition.
At times, life can leave us feeling fragmented and distressed. My approach, involves embracing all of you, meeting you exactly where you are, to walk alongside you and to make space for all aspects of ourselves. To help you discover your own inner wisdom and strength. To arrive home, to your own MindBody. I would be honoured to hold this space for you so that you can embark on this courageous journey.

Further information
I am also a Trauma-informed therapist, which means I will take special note of any possible trauma individuals may have experienced and the impact this may have had on them and will be mindful of not triggering or re-traumatising an individual during therapy. Trauma-informed therapy emphasises "What happened to you?" rather than "What is wrong with you?"
I am also a Polyvagal informed therapist, meaning that I understand the role of the nervous system in relation to our physical, emotional and social well-being. Trauma can mean that an individual can struggle to feel safe in their body, their environment and their relationships. By being Polyvagal informed, I will support individuals to learn more about their own nervous system in order to increase feelings of safety and resilience.
