About me

Hafan Glyd is a non for profit company that offers therapeutic support to all.

The counselling service within Hafan Glyd offers individuals and groups a person centred approach to talking therapy. Sessions can be over the phone, online or face to face and we have various methods that can be applied to help you on your counselling journey.

I am a trained Yoga and Meditation teacher as well as a qualified counsellor and this can be incorperated within your session. I am trained in Pranayama, the use of the breath.

We have therapy animals, horticulture , arts and walking sessions to help you if you prefer. The service is open to all and can include Pre Therapy for individuals or groups that may find traditional counselling a step too far at this point.

Training, qualifications & experience

HE Diploma in Person Centred Counselling

British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma.

HE Diploma in Profound and Multiple Disabilities and/or Sensory Impairments.

Autism training through the national Autistic Society.

Various training in trauma, attachment, anxiety and depression.

British Sign Language trained.

I have worked with young people for many years, and have particular experience of working with care leavers.

I have also worked within local authority for many years and am familiar with the social care systems. I have clients who are carers and I am an approved foster carer myself .

During my career I have worked alongside and supported many diverse groups. I have taken my therapeutic sessions into the prison system, to clients with complex needs, and to many other hard to reach groups as I passionately feel that therapy should be able to be accessed by all.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
