About me

We all have those times in our life when we can't see the wood for the trees, I know I have. But occasionally we don't feel strong enough to negotiate the path that lies ahead alone. It's at those times that I am here to venture down that path with you,  should you choose to ask me.

My modality of practice is Person Centred, which is a non-directive, talking therapy. This basically means that you choose what to talk about and allow the sessions to go in what ever direction you need at that time. I truly believe that we are are our own experts and by creating a safe, non judgmental space in which we can fully explore your thoughts and feelings, together, we will find a way forward.

Client confidentiality is extremely important to me, therefore I adhere to the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) ethical code of practice. I am also a registered member of the BACP.

Availability

I am mainly available in the evenings Monday to Friday and Saturday am.  However I will try to accommodate you as best I can. I do work from home but my therapy room is private so please be assured your sessions will be confidential.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
