About me
Hi, I'm Sepideh, a psychodynamic counsellor with 10+ years of experience working with people of diverse backgrounds. I’m an expert in helping people overcome destructive patterns and life choices, enabling them to unlock their full potential.
My work is influenced by 10 years of cross-cultural experience in Europe and the Middle East.
I chose to practice the psychodynamic approach because it proved to provide long-lasting positive changes through profound self-awareness and insight. I have extensive experience working on a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationships, family issues, trauma, low self-esteem, shame, abuse, isolation, gender and sexuality, identity conflict, displacement and immigration, work-related issues, and supporting people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
I offer therapy in English and Farsi.
My Therapeutic Approach
I practice psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy. This means I help clients to explore the root cause of their problems; how past experiences may relate to their current feelings and emotional pain, behaviour patterns, and relationships. The aim is to provide you with deep insight to empower you to change what is not working for you and reach your full potential. Psychodynamic therapy does have empirical support, and research has provided evidence that positive changes in clients undergoing psychodynamic therapy can be long-lasting. The depth of exploration and understanding in psychodynamic therapy is found to play a role in its effectiveness.
Whatever brings you to therapy, a good therapeutic relationship within a non-judgmental and safe space is central to successful therapy. I understand choosing a therapist can be a confusing task. That's why I offer a free brief consultation (phone or online) to answer any questions you may have before starting therapy.
Please get in touch to arrange a free initial consultation.
Sessions
Each session lasts 50 minutes, online or face-to-face
I offer:
Short-term therapy: between 6 to 12 sessions
Medium-term therapy: between 12 to 24 sessions
Long-term therapy: more than 24 sessions and open-ended
If we agree to work together, we'll then work out how many sessions you’d like to meet– it may be a few sessions or on an open-ended basis. It helps to work out a time frame together from the outset, but nothing is set in stone, and we can always review as we go along.
My first session
The brief consultation is an opportunity for you to discuss any practical concerns and questions you might have about the therapy process. If after this you would like to start weekly sessions we will agree on a possible slot for the weekly session.
Fees
I charge £60 per session.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
