About me

I am a qualified counsellor and an individual member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapy) I am currently working towards accreditation. I am a member of BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association) working towards accreditation. Each of these bodies I use to ensure I am working ethically & safely, whilst utilising training and CPD opportunities.

My role as your counsellor would be to act as your companion as we explore your thoughts & feelings, bringing the cognitive to the intuitive. We will explore your expectations and any goals you would like to achieve from your counselling sessions. My role within your sessions would be to offer perspective and help you to navigate through difficult emotions whilst feeling supported, contained and held. Your sessions could be talking about your feelings or using alternative creative ways.

After working with me, I would hope that you would have gained insight into your own self and have an increased awareness to potential triggers. And have the ability to use the correct techniques for you that will help to manage those emotions.

If you feel that I will be able to support you then you can email me by clicking the link or alternatively book an introduction call. My work availability is flexible with early morning and late evening appointments available through Monday- Friday with occasional weekend availability.

Training, qualifications & experience

Dip. Counselling

I have over 10 years experience of supporting people with their mental health. This includes supporting people who have experienced sexual assault. I am currently counselling parents/carers & guardians that may be struggling within their home life setting. This can be supporting people who have post-natal depression, infertility, and common mental health problems and other challenging obstacles.

I have attended numerous training and webinars around mental health, fertility, sexual abuse, loss & bereavement. I have lots of experience in supporting people with anxiety, anger, depression, self esteem and social anxiety.

I will also cover in our first couple of sessions your wellbeing. This will include practical elements to ensure that you are in the right place with the correct support. This may, with your consent result in referrals to other organisations that may be helpful for you and your situation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Working online and telephone can produce its own challenges. I will try my best to ensure we find a suitable time where you feel free to talk. My way of working with you through the session is to offer perspective on issues you may feel stuck on. I'm not here to offer advise, as we view this world differently with our own reality. However I can help you to find the answers within yourself through offering questions, thoughts, challenging and brining immediacy within the sessions. There will be sessions that are heavy with emotions, and there will be sessions of enlightenment. We will be able to work and celebrate through these together.
