About me

I'm an accredited integrative counsellor working with many clients, with many different experiences and circumstances. These range from relationship and family difficulties, to addictions, trauma, violence and abuse, people living with symptoms of PTSD, neurodivergent clients (ADHD and Autism spectrum), clients dealing with bereavement, anxiety, depression and stress.

I'm especially passionate about working with people with traumatic life experiences and those from the LGBTQ+ community.

I understand how challenging it can feel at times to be in the world whilst remaining open to oneself and others; so I offer a supportive, patient, empathetic service to help you through some of your biggest tests and heartbreaks.

I work in a humanistic and client focused/client led way - which simply means, we can work in any way that suits you; whether that's a conversation or something a little more creative. I will draw on a range of ways of working, but my priority in our work together is our relationship. I believe that is more important than working in a specific, predetermined way.

I'm a cisgender bisexual and queer woman and I use she/her pronouns. I work with an open-mindset and am poly/kink/BSDM aware. I pride myself on being warm, friendly and down-to-earth. You are safe with me, whoever you are.

I'm a Philosophy graduate, which heavily influences the way I work with my clients. I am also heavily influenced by Existentialism, Gestalt theory and Compassion Focused Therapy. I am an advocate for creative and therapeutic writing, the use of stories, metaphor and narratives and I think that mindfulness can be incredibly useful.

I'm interested in working with you to help you make sense of your world, your stories and your life experience. Let's go on this journey together.

If you have any questions or would like to book a session please get in touch by phone or email.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
