About me

When you’re struggling or overwhelmed by life’s little and big problems, it can be difficult to know where to turn and harder to take the first step. Whatever you’re suffering whether it's depression; anxiety; low self-confidence/self-esteem; trauma; relationship problems; grief; loss or bereavement, it doesn’t have to be so hard when you have a professional you can trust to support you. I'm here to help you feel better and stronger, to help you to stop overthinking and find your own capacity to change and grow for a happier life. I will help you navigate the obstacles which may be making you feel as if you can't get ahead.

I have worked with charities helping clients recovering from substance abuse, with a hospice for bereaved family members and in private practice. I offer a wide range of support having had experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, grief, loss, addiction, stress, trauma, anger, phobias and relationship problems.

Mine is an inclusive practice providing a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore and process your emotions, thoughts and experiences. Counselling sessions can help you gain a deeper understanding of your challenges and more clarity to manage your problems and symptoms.

Our sessions foster a therapeutic alliance, offering emotional support and a compassionate ear during difficult times. I can help you find relief, healing, and improved mental well-being.

Next Steps

I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to chat through your concerns and decide if we are a good fit. You can ask any questions and if satisfied you can book your first appointment at a time to suit you. I would expect to see you within 1 - 5 days. Thereafter appointments can be weekly or fortnightly and are regularly reviewed to ensure you're getting what you need from the therapy.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
