About me

As a qualified psychotherapist and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I offer counselling and psychotherapy sessions online across the UK.

My approach is integrative, meaning I use various methods which are client led and client focused in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment, giving you space and time to explore any current issues, mental health symptoms as well as previous adverse childhood experiences or trauma.

During our sessions, you will have the opportunity to discuss whatever issues you are struggling with in order to reach a deeper understanding of yourself, others and your circumstances and most crucially to identify anything that you wish to change and work towards your goals. Together in our sessions, I will work sensitively so as to strengthen and empower you in the here and now to deal with recent events, ongoing or long-standing issues that have surfaced in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Graduate member with the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS) with a first-class degree in Psychology and have a BA (Hons) Business Management (2:1).  I have a CQSW qualification (CCETSW) as well as an MSc from the University of Oxford and an MSt from the University of Cambridge with extensive experience working within the Criminal Justice System and mental health.  In 2023 I have completed a Level 7 Post Graduate module in 'Formulations and Therapeutic approaches to working with personality disorder' (20 credits at the University of Central Lancashire).

Additionally, I have completed the Level 7 postgraduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis from an Integrative Perspective with the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy and through them am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and UKCP Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College (HIPC). As a registered member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) I work in compliance with their Ethical Framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
