About me

Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my profile.

I am a fully qualified Person-Centred Counsellor which means that my approach is to offer you a safe place to  explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I am a friendly, understanding person and whatever the issue, I will not judge you.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and have full professional indemnity insurance. I receive regular supervision and ensure I undertake regular additional training to maintain the ethical standard of my work.

I work with adults over the age of 13; based in Aylesbury, online and face to face.

How Counselling can Help.

Counselling can help by allowing you a safe space in which to explore your thoughts and feelings without feeling judged or rushed.

What to expect in your first session.

In the first session, I feel that it is important for me to explain how I work and you will be free to ask questions. In this first session, we may not commence any therapeutic work, that is entirely up to you and you will set the pace going forward.

What happens next?

Meeting a Counsellor for the first time may feel like a daunting prospect, so I try to make it as simple and reassuring as possible. Firstly, either call me on 07903 222501 and I will speak to you if possible, if not, I will call you back.

Alternatively, click here to send me an email through the contact form and I will get back to you as soon as possible to arrange an initial meeting.

Online and telephone Counselling available.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk). I abide by their ethical framework including an ongoing commitment to professional supervision. I also undertake regular professional development to broaden my own experience and to better understand my clients' needs. I hold full insurance for my practice and my counselling premises.

I have been a volunteer Counsellor at a secondary school for a number of years and One Recovery Bucks supporting adults with drug and alcohol addiction.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
