About me

Hi. Thank you for visiting my profile.

I am a registered, experienced integrative counsellor and my aim is to help you to overcome challenges that are making your life difficult or unhappy. Working with me can give you an opportunity to talk about your thoughts, feelings and personal experiences in a trusting, confidential and caring environment.

I am offering you a safe place where you can feel comfortable to share everything that is on your mind without feeling judged, a space where you can talk about your painful experiences and identify what is causing or contributing to your problems. Together we can then explore your options and helpful strategies.

I am experienced at working with clients of different ages, diverse cultures and ethical backgrounds facing numerous challenges.

Over the years, I have worked with clients that are being held back by their negative thoughts/feelings, feel lonely, sad, depressed, anxious, stressed, panicky, stuck, unhappy, angry, lack confidence, find it difficult to give up smoking or alcohol, feel overwhelmed by life or out of control, have no energy or desire to face daily tasks.

I have also worked with clients who suffered very painful past experiences/traumas, are going through  bereavement, loss or relationship/family/work issues.

Every day I see how something in my clients is changing and they are moving forward and feeling better and better.  Therapy can sometimes be a very painful process, but I strongly believe that it can truly transform people's lives.

I work in a non-judgemental, confidential, accepting way, offering an approach to suit your own experiences, giving you the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings around issues which are personal to you. I will carefully listen, support you and help you to make sense of what happened or is currently happening in your life.

My role is to support my clients and empower them to move forward in their life, feel better about themselves and their circumstances and fully fulfil their potential.

As an Integrative counsellor, I draw on a wide range of counselling techniques. I integrate these into my work to benefit my clients.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I follow their Ethical Code of Practice.

Further information about me and how I work can be found on my website in addition to some frequently asked questions.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like further information or if you would like to book a session. Feel free to contact me directly by phone, email or via my website.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Counselling session:
A session is 50 minutes long and begins at the time booked. Sessions are normally arranged on a weekly basis, at the same time and at the same place, but I offer some flexibility for those whose patterns of work or life are changeable.

I offer both short term (up to 12 sessions) and long term (open ended) counselling.

You are free to stop therapy at the time you choose. Notice of at least two weeks should normally be given before ending therapy, so we can review our work together and have an appropriate and safe ending.

An appointment missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full.
