About me

Thank you for visiting my profile.  The thought of going to therapy or needing counselling can feel overwhelming in itself, and the first step is to recognise how important the relationship is with your counsellor. I offer a warm, empathic, and non- judgmental safe space where clients can bring any worries, anxieties, thoughts, or doubts that they may have, and look to work through these.

Training, qualifications & experience

I offer one hour sessions in person,  50 minutes online or via phone.  I have trained as an integrative therapist which means I use different approaches including person - centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic amongst others; however part and parcel of this training is to meet the client's need through the relationship, and this is where the core work can be really be developed.

My qualifications include the Postgraduate Diploma Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP) whereby I adhere to their ethical framework,  have regular supervision along with undertaking continued professional development and I am fully insured.

I volunteered with Cruse Bereavement throughout the pandemic and offered remote counselling to both adults and children/ young people over the last two and half years. I also volunteer as a parent counsellor through Children's Services, in addition to a school based placement counselling young people aged 11-18.

I have undertaken recent training in the following areas:

  • Trauma Informed Schools Diploma (TIS) Practitioner
  • Safeguarding
  • Suicide Awareness
  • Substance Misuse
  • Group Work
  • Autism Support
  • Bereavement Support for Children/ Young People
  • Mindfulness In Schools Project (MISP)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
