About me

Hello. I am an empathetic, down to earth, friendly person. A person that you would like to meet as your counsellor, due to my warm hearted and easy-going personality. I know that it can be a frightening and daunting time, revealing your pain and opening up to another person, but I will put you at ease, and listen with compassion and absolutely no judgement. I am a "person centred" counsellor, fully qualified professionally, and have a wealth of life experience. I'm a good listener and can walk beside you on this journey. "Person centred' counselling means that you are in charge, you lead the way.

We only talk about what you want to. To begin with, we will build a contract between us based on only what you are comfortable with, and then begin your journey to recovery and empower you to find your true self. My role is to help you with anxiety, depression, confusion and a sense of feeling "lost". I also help with many specific areas such as bereavement, childhood abuse, relationships, and hoarding, amongst others.

My therapy room provides a safe space for you. Not a clinical environment, but a luxury cosy room with big armchairs, cushions and blankets if needed! I strive to provide the most comfortable environment as you are the most important person to focus on during your session. I provide a most valuable face to face service which I value as being a most effective way of counselling.

Please visit my website to learn a little about my journey becoming a counsellor.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been passionate about counselling for nearly 8 years and have had formal training for 6 years. My work experience started at MIND. Then I decided to set up in private practice, which was in 2020, in Barnton, Northwich, Cheshire.

I am fully qualified with a Diploma in Therapeutic counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
