About me
Priyasi Uruthireswaran is an accredited specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). She mostly uses CBT in her day-to-day practice, but is also experienced in other approaches such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Priyasi brings warmth and empathy to the therapy room, and values the importance of the therapeutic relationship.
Priyasi’s approach focuses on helping you explore the challenges that are impacting your life and helping you make positive changes. Priyasi goes on a collaborative journey with you to help you understand and explore your past experiences and how they impact you here and now. She then works on helping you develop strategies to manage your distressing emotions as well as learn to challenge your thoughts and behaviours that maintain your difficulties. Priyasi’s vision is to help you become your own therapist.
Priyasi’s skill set and experience have enabled her to work with a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorders, low self-esteem, trauma, OCD, perfectionism, etc.
Priyasi is also trained as couple therapist through the world-renowned Tavistock Relationships. She provides an empathic approach to help couples explore challenges that make them feel disconnected, such as parenting, illness, and sexual difficulties, and helps them to connect and improve their communication.
Lastly, Priyasi is a qualified EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is a specialised psychotherapy for working on trauma memories and experiences.
Priyasi currently only offering remote sessions (via Zoom and MS Teams).
