About me

We all need help and support when things get tough.

I offer a safe confidential, comfortable space, where you can be free to feel and trust in the work we do together

Sometimes life just feels difficult or painful, for many different reasons, you may feel heavy-hearted, deflated, depressed, anxious, lost, The light at the end of the tunnel is just not there to see and you don’t know how to make changes to feel different. In my experience having someone to talk to who listens, understands, and supports you, is the start to making the changes needed for you to feel different. To work on not only seeing the light at the end of the dark tunnel but to actually reach it and walk into it.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) which means I work to a high professional standard, abide by their Ethical Framework and am fully committed to keeping my clients at the forefront of the work we do together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I work with adults and young people from the age of 12+ years.

I offer a free initial 30 minute meeting that can be face to face or online. This will allow you to meet me, ask any questions, discuss your needs and see how we might work together.

As an integrative counsellor, I work drawing from different theories which are Person Centred, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Transactional Analysis and psychodynamic. This means I have many tools in my toolbox to help me to best meet your individual needs. I offer both long and short term therapy.

I have worked with a wide range of issues and challenges that people have brought to counselling and also have significant experience working in an agency with survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse.
