About me

I understand that sometimes things can feel very challenging or even hopeless, especially if you’ve already tried lots of different ways to make the changes you want. That you're considering working with a therapist means you've already made a significant positive step towards an improved experience of your life and relationships.

I have the skills, training and experience to help you understand your difficulties from a number of different psychological viewpoints. Our sessions can support you to overcome obstacles and develop a lasting sense of freedom, confidence and balance in the process.

Being an Integrative Psychotherapist means I can help if you've been experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, mood swings, bereavement, feelings of loss, difficulties with your self-esteem, identity issues or conflict in your relationships. I have a particular specialism in addiction therapy and can also help if what's troubling you doesn't feel as specific as any of the above; more like a sense of confusion, meaninglessness or lack of firm direction in life.

Our first task will be to build a warm, safe, respectful and trusting relationship in which you're able to express yourself freely. Then we can explore your challenges together, working out what's caused them and what keeps them going, before we support you to make real movements towards the person you'd like to become and the life you'd like to live.

I offer a 15-minute introductory call at no cost - please feel free to get in touch to arrange this and we can take things from there.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I hold a Master's Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and have worked in the therapeutic field since 2017.
  • I've held roles in several private clinics, a psychiatric hospital run by the UK's largest mental health organisation, a charity counselling service and the NHS.
  • In these settings I’ve provided short and long-term therapeutic support for people from a diverse range of backgrounds affected by various forms of psychological hardship.
  • I'm a specialist in alcohol, chemical and behavioural addictions, hold additional qualifications in this area and have worked on an Addictions Team at the UK's best-known rehab provider since 2019.
  • I was voted Therapist of The Year in 2022 by clinical colleagues and patients in a hospital where I'm employed.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
