About me

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you've been struggling for some time or have already tried different ways to make things better. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, addiction, relationship difficulties or simply a sense that life doesn't feel as it should, you don't have to face it alone.

Reaching out for therapy is often the first meaningful step towards understanding yourself more deeply and creating lasting change. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly, feel genuinely heard, and begin to make sense of whatever has brought you to counselling.

My aim is to help you develop greater self-awareness, overcome the obstacles that are keeping you stuck, and move towards a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling and authentic.

How I Can Help

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety and panic
  • Stress and burnout
  • Depression and low mood
  • Addiction and recovery
  • Gambling addiction
  • Alcohol and substance misuse
  • Behavioural addictions
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Identity and life transitions
  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • Emotional regulation
  • Feelings of emptiness, confusion or a lack of direction

Sometimes there isn't one clear problem to solve. You may simply feel disconnected from yourself, uncertain about the future, or caught in patterns that no longer serve you. Therapy can help you understand what's happening beneath the surface and find a clearer, more meaningful way forward.

My Approach

I am a BACP Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist, which means I tailor therapy to you as an individual rather than following a single therapeutic model.

My work is informed by humanistic, psychodynamic and existential therapies.

The humanistic approach places the therapeutic relationship at the centre of the work. I believe that feeling accepted, understood and safe creates the conditions for genuine change.

Psychodynamic therapy helps us explore how past experiences, important relationships and unconscious patterns may continue to influence your thoughts, feelings and behaviours today.

Existential therapy explores questions of identity, meaning, freedom and purpose, particularly during periods of uncertainty, change or loss. Together, these approaches can help you understand yourself more deeply, develop greater emotional resilience, and make choices that feel more aligned with who you are.

Above all, I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful therapy. My aim is to create a collaborative, respectful and supportive space where you can explore difficult experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

Qualifications & Experience

I hold a Master's degree in Psychotherapy and have over eight years' experience supporting adults across a wide range of NHS, statutory and specialist mental health settings.

My professional experience includes working within the NHS, the Metropolitan Police, psychiatric hospitals, rehabilitation clinics and charitable organisations, supporting people with complex emotional, psychological and relational difficulties.

Working across these diverse settings has given me extensive experience of helping people through crisis, recovery and personal change.

Addiction Specialist

Addiction is a particular area of expertise and something I feel deeply passionate about.

I have worked extensively with people experiencing alcohol and drug dependence, gambling addiction and behavioural addictions in both residential rehabilitation and community services. Alongside this, I help manage an NHS gambling treatment service.

I also bring lived experience of long-term recovery, which gives me an additional understanding of both the challenges and possibilities of recovery. While every person's journey is unique, I understand the courage it takes to ask for help and the importance of having someone alongside you who can offer both compassion and challenge when needed.

Whether you're seeking support for your own addiction, maintaining recovery, or trying to cope with the impact of someone else's addiction, therapy can provide a space to understand what's happening and begin moving towards a healthier, more fulfilling future.

Online Counselling

I offer secure online counselling for adults across the UK, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home or another confidential space.

Many people find online therapy offers the same depth and effectiveness as in-person sessions while providing greater flexibility around work, family and other commitments.

Getting Started

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call, giving us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.

If you're considering counselling, you're very welcome to get in touch. I'd be happy to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I hold a Master's degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and have been working in the therapeutic field since 2017. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
  • Throughout my career, I have worked across a range of settings, including private practice, a psychiatric hospital run by one of the UK's largest mental health organisations, an NHS service, and a charity counselling organisation. These roles have given me extensive experience providing both short- and long-term therapy to people from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.
  • I have a specialist interest in alcohol, drug and behavioural addictions, supported by additional professional training in this field. Since 2019, I have been part of the addictions team at one of the UK's leading residential rehabilitation providers, working with individuals at various stages of recovery.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
