About me

When you are faced with challenging thoughts, feelings or behaviours, it can seem lonely and isolating, maybe even impossible to overcome - but together we can find a way forward.

Whatever it is that has led you to consider counselling, I will provide a safe, supportive environment to allow you the space to explore and better understand your thoughts and feelings, without judgement. We will work together to identify the challenges you are facing and to equip you with the insight and understanding you need to create lifelong change.

I am a Humanistic Gestalt counsellor with over 13 years experience working in the mental health and wellbeing field. I work with individuals to help them overcome a variety of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship and family issues, the impact of past trauma, and many other difficulties.

If you would like to make sense of difficulty in your life, change the way that you feel, move on from past experiences, or if you simply need a safe space to reflect on how things are for you right now, please get in touch. I offer sessions face-to-face, as well as online and by telephone.

I understand these first steps of seeking support can feel daunting and confusing, so if you aren't sure what it is you need or how counselling could help you, please do get in touch using the details on this page and I would be happy to talk things through with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Qualifications include:

  • Diploma of Higher Education Humanistic Gestalt Counselling
  • Diploma in Supervision
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion
  • BSc (Hons) Psychology
  • Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling

I also attend regular and varied training, which has included sessions or courses on trauma, ADHD, DBT skills, birth trauma, miscarriage, postnatal depression, amongst others.

Alongside my counselling work in private practice, I also offer Clinical Supervision to other helping professionals, and I am the Clinical Lead for a counselling service charity in Winchester.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
