About me

I am an integrative counsellor who comes alongside my clients in their journey wherever they maybe. Life can be challenging and we can feel quite lonely at times in need because when we need support the most is the hardest time to reach out to others around us. I help my client by building a good therapeutic relationship with a client-centred approach which enable us to work on deeper issues. I aim to empower my client to understand themselves and enable them to gain insight to move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training was in integrative approach which means I draw from different modalities to suit my clients' needs, including person centred therapy, psychodynamics, Gestalt approach, cognitive behaviour therapy and creative interventions. I am also informed by evidence-based practice, trauma and attachment theory. My training also including working with different complex issues including culture, race and religion/ spirituality.

I have a Diploma in Higher Education in Counselling (Level 5) from Waverley Abbey College (Middlesex University).

I am a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have significant experience in construction industry which enables me to work with people who experiences high pressure work issues. I also have personal experience in migration and adjusting to a new culture and communities.

I worked for NHS IAPT services providing counselling online for various mental health issues. Currently I work with adults at Mind- a mental health charity in person and I work with young people at secondary schools as well as providing service through my private practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
