About me

I am an integrative psychotherapist and have trained in a range of modalities which you can view below. I believe fundamentally in our capacity for change and that you are the expert on you. Working collaboratively and holistically, together we will find the right combination of techniques and approaches so that you feel safe enough to address your current challenges.

How I work...

Short term

Coming to therapy to focus on immediate issues or in a time of crisis, we can work on a short-term framework of 6-12 weeks, to address your immediate situations and symptoms.

Long term

Working together over a longer period will enable you to understand and uncover the deep-rooted causes for reoccurring symptoms, your reactions, triggers, habits, or unhelpful coping strategies. Together we can mindfully work towards a tangible framework of living that empowers.

Developing a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship is central to the success of your therapy work. We will give you the space needed to set up responsive boundaries and agreements that best support your well-being and continue to monitor their effectiveness.

My role is often to hold up a mirror, offering a new perspective to your situation or symptoms, creating the possibility for change. Using an embodied, mindful approach, the underlying patterns contributing to your issues will become clearer and more available for change.

For your therapy to create the profound, long term changes you long for, we will necessarily come up against some uncomfortable edges which we will navigate with great care. One of my roles as a counsellor is to hold you accountable and gently point out when repetitive negative patterns are being shown.

I understand that the choice to come to therapy is not always an easy one and you may have questions you’d like to ask beforehand.

If you are interested in working with me, you can book a 20-minute chat either on the phone or virtually to see if we’re a good fit and address queries you might have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My background is in sales for blue chip companies, and with the creative sector. Following my path through career coaching, I came to train as a therapist through my own positive experiences of being in therapy. I also offer mental health training for corporates. I am warm and direct, and find humour is an essential part of life which brings creativity and new possibilities to the table.
