About me
I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step when looking for support but please rest assured that I will do all I can to put you at ease. I aim to offer a warm, relaxed, down to earth approach. So if you would like to talk things over without committing yourself to anything, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I have experience in a wide range of issues, supporting clients from all walks of life including personnel from the emergency services, counselling both short term and long term. I offer a secure, confidential and professional relationship, through which problems can be identified, confronted and resolved in the privacy of regular, reliable sessions.
As well as being in a private practice I work as Clinical Lead with 13-25 year olds in a young persons counselling service. I have experience in counselling at a children's hospice, supporting children, teenagers and their families. I have worked in the charity sector for over 30 years in both a counselling and fundraising capacity.
My approach is holistic, in that I am interested in “the whole person”, and I often encourage clients to examine aspects of their overall lifestyle, such as health, diet and exercise, to assist and support the psychological and emotional changes they are making
I practice integrative psychotherapy which means that I have trained in several models of therapy. I draw from a psychodynamic, humanistic and person-centred, approach which allows me to offer the type of therapy, or combination of therapies, that is most appropriate for the particular needs of each client. My approach is particularly suited to people who want to understand themselves better as well as tackle problematic issues or areas.
I also provide relaxation courses for both individuals and groups helping to facilitate deep relaxation enabling the mind and body to relax together.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
