About me

I have worked in NHS Child Mental Health Services for 20 years as well as working with adults in private practice. My therapeutic experiences have included supporting people with a variety of mental health difficulties. I can help with:

  • couple and family relationship difficulties
  • difficulties with parenting
  • experiences of trauma, bereavement and loss
  • attachment difficulties
  • depression
  • self-harm
  • emotional dysregulation
  • anxiety
  • challenges associated with neurodiversity, sexuality and gender identity
  • eating disorders

My therapeutic approach incorporates a broad range of systemic, social constructionist, narrative, solution focused and evidence-based ways of working. I am additionally trained in attachment based family therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and family therapy for anorexia and bulimia nervosa.

My aim is to support the people I work with to make sense of their problems in the contexts of their histories, their current situations and their relationships. I aim to pay particular attention to the different aspects of identity that inform people's lived experience. My approach is to develop a safe space in which you can explore what is significant and meaningful for you, to identify your hopes, make changes and work towards realising your goals.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
