About me
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I appreciate it can be challenging to find the right therapist so if it would be helpful I would be more than happy to arrange an introductory call with you to answer any questions you might have.
As some background information, I have worked in NHS Mental Health Services for 20 years with adults, couples, families, children and young people as well as working in private practice. My therapeutic experiences have included supporting people with a variety of mental health difficulties. Some of the areas I can help with are:
- couple, family, friendship and work relationship difficulties
- difficulties with parenting
- experiences of trauma, bereavement and loss and difficulties from the past that are affecting you now
- attachment difficulties
- depression
- self-harm
- emotional dysregulation
- anxiety
- challenges associated with neurodiversity, sexuality and gender identity
- eating disorders
My therapeutic approach incorporates a broad range of systemic, social constructionist, narrative, solution focused and evidence-based ways of working. I am additionally trained in attachment based family therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and family therapy for anorexia and bulimia nervosa.
My aim is to support the people I work with to make sense of their problems in the contexts of their histories, their current situations and their relationships. I aim to pay particular attention to the different aspects of identity that inform people's lived experience. My approach is to develop a safe space in which you can explore what is significant and meaningful for you, to identify your hopes, strengths, resources. By considering different perspectives and possibilities for understanding, communicating and relating, I aim to support you to make meaningful change and work towards realising your goals.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
