About me

I offer a warm and welcoming therapeutic atmosphere, where you can comfortably discuss any issues you are facing.

While I draw from existential, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches, I also include some Eastern philosophy and practices. If you would additionally like an introduction to meditation techniques, then this can also be incorporated into the work.

Sometimes, working with your dreams and guided visualisations might be appropriate if that appeals to you.  I also specialise in working with body symptoms and sensations, using them as a guide to uncover any deeper issues that may need to be resolved.

Overall, my aim is to help you master difficult feelings and to encourage the best parts of you to flourish and bloom. While I deal with most issues that anyone can face in life, I have particular experience in the following areas:

TRAUMA (PTSD or Depersonalisation/derealisation)
SELF-REGULATION (ADHD, anger issues, eating disorders)
ANXIETY (Insomnia, generalised anxiety, social phobia)
EXISTENTIAL DILEMMAS (Loneliness, finding purpose, difficult life choices)
CREATIVE (Overcoming performance anxiety or writer’s block)

If you are wrestling with another issue that isn’t listed above, please do get in touch and I will tell you whether I honestly believe I can help.

Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, we'll tackle problems with clarity and compassion, leading to a restored sense of balance and hope in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

BACP registered counsellor & psychotherapist. Training was as an Integrative Transpersonal therapist and I draw from a range of approaches, including existential, humanistic and psychodynamic ideas.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
