About me
Having experienced the need of counselling in my own life, I feel that I am in a position to better understand what it takes to make that first step. I aim to provide a safe space for you, and work together at a pace that is suitable for your needs and development.
I am a qualified Counsellor with additional coaching experience. As an Accredited member of the BACP I work within their professional guidelines. I use a pluralistic approach to my therapy working with 18+. This involves working collaboratively with my clients, their individuality thus incorporating shared decision making. I can work with a wide range of concerns and assist you with issues you may be facing such as general anxiety disorder, depression, panic disorder, addictions, stress, anger, sexual abuse, fears, family issues, feeling sad and many others. An example of this approach is discussing with you what you would like to achieve from therapy then working together to achieve the most effective way to get there. I am currently studying towards a qualification in EMDR therapy.
By integrating life coaching into my practice, I work to help make positive changes. My aim here is to do for the mind what a Personal Trainer does for the body. Sculpt, change and make it as effective as possible for you. This can work well to treat anxiety, panic attacks, decision making, low motivation, low mood and many other concerns.
My experience enables me to work with a variety of concerns, and my findings are that regardless of what the concerns are that bring you to counselling, it is the relationship we build together which makes the biggest difference.
I have had experience working with both school children, young adults and adults. I worked with several troubled school children for a period of time, finding each of their personal development very rewarding. I am the Counselling Manager for a voluntary organisation and within this I also counsel adults with many different and difficult issues on a voluntary basis.
Your now, doesn't have to be your forever.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
