About me

I am a person-centred counsellor based in Woodlesford, Leeds, and I’m passionate about providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals looking to explore counselling therapies for various issues including anxiety, depression and general day to day struggles. I do understand that seeking counselling can be a significant and sometimes difficult step, and I appreciate the courage taken to starting this important process, however out of your comfort zone it may feel.

Your first session...

In our initial meeting, I believe it’s important to have an open and collaborative discussion about your reasons for seeking counselling. Together, we will explore what has brought you here, as well as your hopes and fears regarding the counselling process. Establishing a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is essential for our work together to be effective.

Working together...

I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions. I recognise that our present experiences can be influenced by past events. I am here to help you explore such issues and encourage you to gain mindful insights that can positively influence your current situation and circumstances.

As a person-centred counsellor, I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to support and guide you in discovering your own solutions and empowering you to make meaningful changes. Throughout your counselling sessions, I will provide a compassionate and empathetic presence as we explore your concerns and work towards your desired outcomes.

I am also deeply committed to providing empathetic and nonjudgmental support to individuals navigating the varied challenges that come with ADHD. Recognising the sometimes-debilitating struggles and also the unique strengths associated with ADHD, I am dedicated to creating a safe and understanding space where clients feel safe enough to explore their experiences and goals.
My passion for supporting clients with ADHD stems from my own personal connection, having received a late diagnosis after years of struggling with thoughts, feelings and behaviours that I had no control over. I genuinely understand the barriers and complexities associated with ADHD and am filled with a desire to provide compassionate and effective support to anyone struggling. I want to ensure that my clients feel validated and supported as they navigate through their own life experience of living with ADHD.

My professional commitments...

To ensure the highest standard of care, I engage in regular supervision with an experienced counselling supervisor. This practice allows me to maintain a healthy and professional approach to my work. Additionally, I actively seek ongoing professional development opportunities such as workshops and training courses to enhance my skills and knowledge.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their ethical framework and regulations, ensuring that our work together is conducted with integrity and professionalism. I also hold full professional indemnity insurance, and hold a clear, fully comprehensive DBS barring service check for your peace of mind.

Please just ask...

If you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial short telephone conversation, (That it is completely free of charge and carries no obligation for you to proceed with therapy), then please do reach out to me. I will endeavour to respond to your email or text within 24 hours.

Thank you for considering me as your counsellor. I’m here to support you on your journey towards inner healing and personal growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
