About me

I am Lyndsey,  a qualified and experienced counsellor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology.

Are you feeling depressed? Suffering from anxiety? Do you have low self-esteem or low-confidence? Maybe you have family or relationship problems?

Counselling can offer you a safe space to explore and work through these feelings and struggles.  Giving you the dedicated time and space to work through what is going on for you,  which often  in the fast paced world we  live in can be  extremely rare.

With many different types of therapy and therapists available it can feel overwhelming choosing the right therapist. I believe the most important factor is choosing a counsellor you feel safe and comfortable with.  This is also backed by research;   achieving good therapeutic outcomes and change is directly impacted by having a good  relationship between client and counsellor.  I see it a little like Cinderella and the glass slipper, the fit needs to be good, it is important you find the right counsellor for you. Where you feel safe and able to honestly share what is happening within your inner world.

I offer a free initial telephone or online consultation where you can ask any questions, and also see if you feel we would be able to work together.

I have experience  working in Private Practice, NHS counselling referrals and Sexual abuse and Domestic Violence organisations.  I also have extensive experience  working with people with Autism, ADHD and other learning needs and supporting their families.

Working with clients struggling with a range of issues such as; family or relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, domestic violence, sexual abuse, depression, coping with change, trauma, difficulties within the workplace, low self-esteem, low-confidence  and adapting to change and loss through illness or bereavement.

I believe everyone is wonderfully unique, regardless of how similar our problems may seem on the surface to those of others; Therefore, I use a range of skills and therapy models to find what works best for you, at your own pace.   Offering a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where you feel comfortable to honestly explore yourself, and anything that is  causing you worry or anguish, no matter how difficult or uncomfortable it may be.  Working together in this way enables you to gain a better understanding of yourself.  Empowering and enabling you to  make the positive changes you desire.

I have some immediate appointments available, both day time and  evening session.  Give me a call or send me an email to arrange a free consultation.
