Are you feeling sad? suffering from anxiety? or maybe feel you have low self-esteem? We live in a fast paced and often critical world that can sometimes feel out of control and frightening. Counselling can offer you a wonderful chance to explore and work through these struggles.
My name is Lyndsey, I am a qualified and experience counsellor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology.
With many different types of therapy and therapists available it can feel overwhelming choosing the right therapist for you. I believe the counsellor/client relationship is a key element into achieving good therapeutic outcomes and change. I offer a free initial telephone or online consultation where you can ask any questions, and also see if you feel we would be able to work together.
I have experience of working in Private Practice, NHS counselling referrals and Sexual abuse and Domestic Violence organisations. I also have extensive experience in working with people with Autism, ADHD and other learning needs and also in supporting their families.
Working with clients struggling with many different challenges such as; family difficulties, anxiety, stress, loss and bereavement, domestic violence, addictions, sexual abuse, depression, coping with change, trauma, difficulties within the workplace, relationship issues, low self-esteem, confidence issues and adapting to change and loss through illness.
I use a range of skills and therapy models to find what best works for you, at your own pace. As we are all unique and different, regardless of how similar our problems may seem on the surface. Offering a safe, non judgemental and confidential space where you can honestly talk about your life or anything causing you worry and anguish, no matter how difficult or uncomfortable it may be. Working together in this way enables you to gain a better understanding of yourself and can be empowering and help you make the positive changes you desire.
I have some immediate appointments available. I also have a number of late evening and weekend session slots. Give me a call or send me an email to arrange a free consultation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
