About me

I am a qualified Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and registered member of the BACP offering short or long-term online sessions.

How I work

At the core of Humanistic Approach is the belief that every human being has essential worth. This is central to my work where I provide the ground to explore your relationship with yourself and others, within the safety of a supportive therapeutic relationship.

In my holistic approach I draw from several modalities (Person Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional analysis) working with you to shine a light on your difficulties and discover ways to free you from some of the patterns in your life that might be causing you pain and discomfort.

I may invite you to tune into your body during sessions, believing our bodies to hold a wealth of insight into our lived experience and how that lived experience impacts us in the here-and-now.

People seek therapy for all sorts of different reasons. The Humanistic Approach does not believe there is one right way to live, therefore our work together will be tailored to support you with your current concerns and how you are experiencing them.

Sessions are £50 for 50 minutes.

What is online counselling?

I offer 50-minute sessions via the video-based web platform Zoom. Online counselling is a way for you to see your counsellor from your computer whilst engaging in therapy. Being able to see your counsellor gives access to the benefits of face-to-face counselling but with the convenience of meeting online in your own space at a time that suits you.

Next steps

If you think that we might be a good fit please feel free to contact my via email or phone to arrange an initial session. If I am unable to take your call please leave a message and I will get back to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
