When life presents us with challenges and difficulties, we can sometimes navigate these changes with the help of friends and family. However, there are moments when we may feel stuck or overwhelmed. In such times, I can provide a fresh perspective by building awareness of what is going on and how to process it.
In our confidential sessions, we'll look at what brings you to therapy. At the same time we will explore how events and emotions in the past have influenced your feelings and your behaviour. By looking at both the past and the present, we can gain a better understanding of your current needs and how to meet them going forward instilling the change you are looking for. We can explore your specific struggles, uncover your core values, and set meaningful goals.
I provide practical strategies to build resilience, boost self-esteem, and enhance adaptability. My approach combines: • Challenging negative thought patterns • Fostering self-awareness • Developing healthy coping mechanisms • Setting appropriate boundaries.
I have extensive experience working with stress, anxiety and depression, with a particular interest in issues arising from bereavement, grief and loss or dealing with change. Whether it is because you feel stuck and may not know what to do next or because you have had change thrust upon you. For example, job loss, career change, retirement, bereavement, living with illness or a diagnosis, a relationship split, family and friendship issues, feelings of not fitting in, adult adoptees, expat life, health issues, working on attachment styles, dealing with ADHD or loneliness.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
If you agree to start counselling with me, I will send you a contract to fill out and sign.
After this, we will have our first session. I will ask you a series of questions about yourself so that I have a better idea of who you are. E.g. family life, friends, health, what is bringing you to counselling - these are a few of the questions I will ask you.
We can now start on what you want to bring to the counselling sessions.
I generally recommend 6 sessions to start with and then we can decide how to take things forward from there. We can discuss this in our session.
