About me

I am a warm, open and friendly counsellor who will support you to explore safely whatever you wish to bring to counselling. Sometimes counselling can be about processing a particular experience or issue and sometimes it is about exploring a sense of 'not-rightness' or discomfort in your everyday life. Whatever your reasons for seeking counselling you can be assured you will receive an open, non-judgmental space to explore and get to know yourself better.

I will create an environment where you can be safely heard.  I am an integrative therapist which means I draw on lots of different schools of thought in counselling and psychotherapy, from humanistic to psychodynamic.  I will approach the issues you bring with curiosity and openness.  My style is relational which means I see counselling as a collaborative endeavour where we will work together to explore what matters to you.

I offer both short and long-term counselling, both on-line and face to face. I normally recommend that we meet each other for an introductory session so that we can check whether I am the right counsellor for you and explore how we might work together.

I have worked with a wide variety of issues from anxiety to trauma, bereavement to long term health conditions.  You may have a specific issue you wish to focus on or it may be an exploration of where you are in your life right now.

I have extensive experience supporting individuals with anxiety and depression as well as experience working safely with a wide variety of trauma. I have a particular interest in working with fertility issues, pregnancy, pregnancy loss and becoming a parent.  Whatever issues you bring to therapy they will be treated with care and compassion.

With a long career in education prior to retraining  in counselling and several years experience working as a counsellor in a large FE and HE college  I am able to support young people (aged 16+) with issues such as self-esteem, relationship problems, anxiety, depression and self-harm.

Please email or phone me today if you would like to explore how we might work together- I respond to all queries within 24 hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
