Are you a couple, who is facing difficulties with your relationship and have been struggling to resolve things on your own, are you trying to recover from the impact of an affair, finding your sexual relationship has become mundane or disappeared, or maybe want to change your parenting patterns? I can offer counselling to look at these areas, or other worries you have in your relationship.
Together we can talk about the areas you would like to improve, how other things or people affect your relationship, learn why arguments escalate and improve your ability to negotiate with each other and wherever possible, resolve your conflicts.
Are you an adult or young person (aged 13+), who would like talk about what you are finding difficult in your life and have this heard and understood? Who wants someone to listen without judging, but with compassion for what is happening for you. Maybe you want to be able to love and accept yourself, or leave past events behind and move on.
By talking about your difficulties we can increase our understanding of how you react to your experiences, see the ways you have coped and enhance your ability to find ways to manage and increase your confidence.
I have training and experience in dealing with a wide range of issues, including acquired brain injuries, identity, sexual trauma, specific counselling for young people and long-term illness, with particular awareness of counselling for anxiety and depression. I also have experience of working in large organisations and can offer counselling if you are feeling work-related stress, being affected by redundancy or would like to thrive in your career.
I am a person-centered, integrative, BACP registered counsellor who places emphasis on getting to know and understand you and your world, to appreciate the circumstances you are finding difficult to live with. I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. DBS Certificate held.
I offer an initial “getting to know” session which allows us to consider whether we wish to work together, if we wish to continue we will arrange an agreed number of sessions or work “open-ended”. Review sessions will take place as agreed and you are free to terminate your appointments at any time. Please note a cancellation fee will apply for short notice (less than 24 hours).
