About me

There are many reasons an individual seeks therapeutic support; maybe you are at a cross roads in your life or that you are looking for answers to the conversations that keep occurring in your mind.

I can support you in making sense of how you are feeling, and to explore how you can move forward from the place you are at now in your life. Our sessions would involve building a trusting relationship, and through this you would develop more of an understanding of yourself and what you hope to change going forward.

With 11 years experience as an integrative counsellor drawing from different models, I have supported clients with a range of presenting concerns. Individuals from many different backgrounds from adults to young people who have experienced :

  • Domestic violence.
  • Bereavement and loss.
  • Traumatic life events.
  • Parents who are struggling to manage their day to day lives.
  • Individuals facing relationship difficulties.
  • People coping with depression and anxiety, to name a few.

Training, qualifications & experience

Since March 2019 I have been counselling young people from 12 to 18yrs at a college in Liverpool, during term time.

From 2008 to March 2019 I was offering counselling, pastoral support and had the role of deputy safeguarding officer, in a secondary school supporting 12 to 16yrs.

I have also counselled clients at:

  • A domestic abuse charity.
  • A mental health charity.
  • A charity supporting young people who are at risk of homelessness.
  • A mental health helpline. Supporting the general public with well-being concerns.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2010.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
