About me

Open minded & down to earth - Our sessions together are a place where you can be yourself, talk, laugh, cry, swear & vent about everything that's weighing you down. £60 each or 4 for £200 - video or telephone, weekly or fortnightly.

Whatever you are thinking or feeling right now, I'm here to listen, and understand you without judgement.  I offer a supportive, affirming space to help you make sense of what's happening in your life?

Are you feeling overwhelmed?  Are you putting pressure on yourself, trying to do it all, finding it difficult to ask for help?  Are you putting your needs after everyone else and perhaps some resentment is starting to creep in?  Saying Yes but meaning No.

I can help - I will listen to you, and help you work out what you need, and how you can start to ask for it.

Maybe there are other issues that you would like support with: anxiety, depression, anger, chronic health issues, relationship difficulties, family problems or problems at work all make everyday life that little bit harder.

You don't have to struggle on alone.  Talking to someone being listened to and feeling heard can have a huge impact on your wellbeing and ability to cope with life's stresses and strains.

Have you experienced a bereavement or other loss and you're trying to hide how much it hurts or feel you should be 'over it' by now - it’s okay to need more time.

Are you experiencing debilitating symptoms of pms, pmdd or perimenopause or menopause and finding life is getting harder each day - feeling like you’re not you anymore, feeling crazy - talking to someone who understands what you're going through can help you make sense of what's happening and work out what you need to support you.

Tired of hearing you're too sensitive or feeling like you're too much - maybe you're not the problem!

Working together I can support you with many issues for example:

  • Talking through your thoughts and feelings.
  • Learning to manage your emotions including anger, sadness, depression, anxiety
  • Work through problems - with work, relationships, family.
  • Understand your needs, and work out how to meet them
  • Cope better with bereavement and loss, trauma, shame and stigma.
  • Recover from an affair or relationship break down.
  • Work on low self-esteem, increasing self-compassion, support.
  • Understand and manage your boundaries.
  • Exploring and accepting difference, supporting you to be you.
  • Make changes and set goals in a way that works best for you.

Special Interests include:

Women’s mental health – acknowledging the impact of hormones on your mood, energy ability to cope with stress – pms, pmdd or menopause/perimenopause and its impact on your mental and physical well-being, identity, relationships.  As someone with endometriosis who experienced an early menopause I understand how traumatic it can be - anxiety that comes out of nowhere, irritablity, anger, lacking energy and motivation, brain fog - struggling to cope with the stress of everyday life - and thats without even mentioning the physical changes - affecting your ability to do your job, your relationships your family and your sense of self.

Bereavement and loss, whether that's the loss of a loved one or a precious pet, or a miscarriage.  Acknowledging the many other losses we experience in life - disability, illness, divorce, job loss, childless by circumstance, parents who weren't what you needed, not living the life you thought you would have - you are allowed to feel that loss and acknowledge how much it hurts, talk about it.

Neurodivergence: – adhd or autistic - newly diagnosed, late diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or undiagnosed and wondering if maybe... that might be you?  I can support you to explore your thoughts and start to understand and accept yourself.

I work with people from all walks of life and embrace newly diagnosed or late realised neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients including non - binary & trans folx. I aim to practice body neutrality and fat acceptance - acknowledging the fatphobia, inherent in society.

Get in touch now to book a free 30 minute call to discuss your needs and how we can work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
