About me

I’m an experienced BACP accredited therapist with over 10 years experience working with children, young people and adults.  I offer supervision to qualified counsellors’ and other mental health professionals. I have a PG (Level 7) certificate in clinical supervision.

I have experience of working within a variety of different settings where I have developed my knowledge and skills as a trauma informed therapeutic practitioner utilising creative approaches where necessary. My approach to supervision is grounded in my training of person-centred therapy, providing a relational and supportive space.

Following a background in secondary school counselling and work in primary schools, I have an interest in supporting supervisees working with children and young people.  In addition to this I have experience in the field of local authority post-adoption support working therapeutically with CYP and their families. This is complimented by my knowledge and experience in the role as a foster carer.

Other experience includes providing counselling and EMDR therapy with adults at a local cancer support service which helps families affected by cancer and bereavement.

In addition to this prior employment includes working as a further education tutor and line manager at a residential college for young adults with learning differences where I provided 1:1 supervision to a range of staff.

I feel I have a breadth of knowledge and experience to support supervisees working with children young people and adults within a variety of different sectors.

Please contact me if you are interested. I offer a free initial 30-minute meeting to explore how we may work together.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
