About me

I am a Counselling Psychologist with a diverse range of experience and I primarily work with adults and couples. In clinical practice, I aim to meet your individual and unique needs by way of integrating different types of therapies including Person-Centered Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT).

In therapy, I will work to help you understand your current struggles by making connections between your current life situation, feelings, behaviours and your past experiences. Once you have a solid understanding about what's going on we can start working towards change.

I aim to provide a balanced form of therapy. On the one hand, I like to structure the therapy I give so as to equip you with some specific strategies and skills to work through your difficult emotions. This helps to strengthen your ability to cope with distressing feelings such as stress, pain, sadness, anxiety and frustration.  On the other hand, I like to openly explore your issues so as to develop a deeper understanding of how and why you've ended up here, struggling in these specific ways.  This will allow you to develop a sense of compassionate self-acceptance and move through life with more ease, meaning and purpose.

In my personal approach to therapy, I will act as a guide, working collaboratively with you through your journey. I value being personable, compassionate, non-judgemental, kind and open.

Some of the issues I support individuals through are depression, anxiety, stress management, addiction, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, low self-worth and self-esteem, and moving through grief and loss. At present, I continue to only see clients on line.  If it feels right, please feel free to get in touch to schedule an initial appointment.
