About me

As your psychotherapeutic counsellor, I can work with you on the difficulties that you experience in life such as your relationships, anxiety, low mood, low self esteem, loneliness, loss, change, culture and difference. Having counselled patients for the NHS and students at local universities, in my private practice I work with adults and teenagers age 16 and over. I offer a warm, compassionate approach, providing you with a safe, confidential, non judgemental space to explore all that is important to you, so that you can make sense of things and discover your way forward.

With a design background, decades of experience in industry, and then many years facilitating children's learning and development in early years education before qualifying to be an Integrative Relational Counsellor, I am, a naturally curious person, creative, analytical, empathetic and nurturing.  I simply value all that it is to be human from the child that is within all of us to the adult we are now. I value learning, being mindful, having a compassionate mind and the benefits of facilitating mindful awareness, insight and resilience that can help you work through the challenges you face.  By working with me, you may discover these benefits as part of your own journey in making sense of your life experiences, finding meaning and overcoming obstacles towards achieving personal growth or simply being in a better place feeling lighter without having to carry a heavy load.

If you just want to talk to a professional about something that is happening for you to get another perspective in one session, or have ongoing sessions to focus on issues such as difficult relationships past and present, parenting issues, anxiety, infertility, loss, difficult childhood, feeling insecure or alone, contact me on 07305 934888 to request a free 15 minute telephone consultation or book a session. Remember you don’t have to stay stuck or face things all on your own. Contact me to discuss how we can work together to help you through it.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of the BACP with a first class BA Honours degree in Integrative Relational Counselling. My expertise include work with relationship issues, depression, low mood, low self esteem, social anxiety, OCD, self harm, loneliness and isolation, managing difficult emotions, perfectionism, procrastination, support to study, family/ cultural pressures, perinatal/ parenting issues, health issues, existential concerns, loss and grief.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
