About me
Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
If you're looking at this website, you might be facing difficulties and worries in your emotional life, be feeling distressed and needing help with a specific issue, struggling to come to terms with a traumatic event or loss, or perhaps seeking a clearer perspective on your life, on making choices and on how to move towards a more positive future.
For most of us, it has been necessary to develop an identity or sense of self in order to feel accepted or enough. Maintaining this requires adopting patterns, strategies and beliefs and while these can feel as though they work well for many years, they eventually keep us stuck or put blocks in the way of growth.
As your therapist I work with you to understand what these patterns and beliefs are, recognise where they get in the way, and discover where they came from.
As we do this we heal habits such as people pleasing or co-dependancy, we understand where you may have lost your voice or disowned your feelings, identify where you may have begun to see yourself as less than and how you compare yourself negatively to others, where you have lost your trust and belief in yourself as worthy and enough.
By combining relational therapy with mind set coaching we aim to expose and disown the outdated beliefs and survival strategies, to introduce boundary setting, effective communication skills, healthy habits, kind internal dialogue and the ability to truly show up for yourself. This in turn improves your relationships with others and the experience of living your life.
My special interests are working with historic abuse and trauma, working with change and letting go of destructive patterns of thinking and behaving, working with life stage changes such as becoming a parent, relationships, recovering from or managing relationship with narcissists.

If you think I might be a good fit for you then book in for an introductory call where you can ask me questions and get more of an idea of how I work.
If after our call you'd like to go ahead with sessions we book in a time for our 50 minute session, either face to face at my therapy room in Farnham or on-line.
It's hard to say how many sessions may be needed so I usually suggest we check in after every 6 weeks to see how we're doing and what else needs our focus.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
