About me

I am a proficient BACP and NCPS registered counsellor providing both short and long-term face-to-face therapy to adults and young adults (16+) in a safe and comfortable environment. My goal is to support you in exploring the challenges that you are facing and empower you to make the changes you’d like to see in your life that will help you reconnect more fully with the world around you on your own terms.

My approach is humanistic and built on the psychotherapeutic foundation of Transactional Analysis. By understanding your past experiences, we can make sense of how these affect you in the here and now and impact your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. I often weave neurobiological understanding into client work to offer a ‘whole health’ understanding of what is going on for you and bring clarity and focus.

I work in a non-judgemental, trauma-informed way and I offer a safe space for difference and diversity. My practice is a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQIA+ community.

In addition to my private practice, I am a co-facilitator of a support group at a local domestic and sexual abuse charity and offer counselling services to other health agencies in the area. I am also an approved CPCAB Tutor and teach a Counselling Skills course at The Mindspace Foundation in Basingstoke.

With a focus on communication, my approach enables clients to form deeper connections with themselves and others. I work with clients to understand their past experiences and how they affect them currently, helping them gain insight and understanding of their feelings and concerns. Recognising that every individual is unique, I tailor my approach to the specific needs of my clients, whether it be short-term crisis intervention or a longer-term therapy plan.

I possess a wide range of expertise in treating issues including low self-esteem and loss of confidence, relationship and family issues, loss and bereavement, adjusting to retirement, sexual and domestic abuse, career and management burnout, high pressure c-suite roles, sexuality and gender, and men’s issues – to name a few.

My goal is to provide the confidential environment that you need to process the challenges and difficulties that modern life brings and find a clear and satisfying way forward for you.

I offer a free 20-minute consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
