About me

Hi, I'm Katy. I am a registered counsellor (MBACP) providing face-to-face therapy to individuals, couples and families in a safe and comfortable environment.

My goal is to support you in exploring the challenges that you are facing and help you make the changes that you’d like to see in your life that will allow you to reconnect more fully with the world and people around you, on your own terms.

My approach is integrative and built on the psychotherapeutic foundation of Transactional Analysis. By understanding your past experiences, we can make sense of how these affect you in the here and now, and impact your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I often weave neurobiological understanding into client work to offer a ‘whole health’ view of what is going on for you and bring clarity and understanding.

I work in a non-judgemental, trauma-informed way and I offer a safe space for difference and diversity in both identity, gender, and relationship. My practice is a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQIA+ community.

My supportive and tailored approach will enable you to form a deeper connection with yourself and those around you - your family, partner(s), friends, and colleagues. I will work with you to understand your past experiences and how they might affect you now, helping you gain insight and understanding of your feelings and concerns. Recognising that every individual is unique, I tailor my approach to the specific needs of my clients, whether it be short-term crisis intervention or a longer-term therapy plan.

I possess a wide range of expertise in treating issues including low self-esteem and loss of confidence, relationship and family issues, managing neurodivergence, sexual and domestic abuse, career and management burnout, high-pressure c-suite roles, sexuality and gender, and men’s issues – to name a few.

My goal is to provide the safe and confidential environment that you need to process the challenges and difficulties that modern life brings and find a clear and satisfying way forward towards emotional and psychological wellbeing.

I know it takes courage to reach out for support and knowing if you're making the right choice can feel overwhelming. I offer a free 20-minute consultation to help you take one step closer to finding the right support for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
