About me

My name is Kate and I am the proud founder of Dot's Counselling & Wellbeing.  I understand the process of finding a counsellor and opening up about your feelings can be difficult, but trust me... there's not a lot I haven't heard! So whatever issue you're facing or feelings you have, no matter how big or small, please feel free to give me a call, text or email to arrange a FREE 15 min consultation to see if I'm the right fit for you. I aim to build trusting, empowering relationships with my clients, creating a safe and confidential space for you to truly feel heard.

Together we can explore what you feel ready to share – whether these are current, buried or almost forgotten experiences. I will be at your side every step of the way, helping you on your journey of growth and change.

At the start of this journey, life can feel very scary, lonely and confusing. With my style of working, I aim to help you feel calm, clear and supported, enabling you to become the person you want to be.

I offer sessions over the phone, or on video call.

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile, please contact me if you have any questions or wish to arrange your free consultation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy and am a Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), working within their ethical framework. I hold a current enhanced DBS disclosure and have full insurance to practice.

I am passionate about what I do, and undergo continuous professional development, training and learning to better my practice and deliver the best service I possibly can to every client I see. I want you to feel you're getting the most out of every hour we have together, and tailor all sessions to your needs and goals.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
