About me

I am a qualified and registered Counselling Psychologist. My private practice is based in Sunbury-on-Thames. I have experience providing individual, family and couple therapy. I also work with children and adolescents. I meet my clients on a weekly or fortnightly basis and I offer both short-term and open ended therapy.

Counselling and psychotherapy can help you to understand your problems, decide which of them you can resolve and help you achieve it. You can gain a better understanding of yourself and others, and can improve relationships. Therapy can help you to mediate arguments and develop your communication skills. Couple or family therapy can assist when you experience any stressful event that may strain family relationships, such as the birth of a child, problems with adolescents or going through loss or divorce.

Before the therapy starts, I undertake an initial assessment to look closely at the problem and decide upon the best next steps. After our first consultation session, we will decide upon the most suitable type of support: individual therapy, couple therapy or family sessions. This is also time for you to see if you are happy with my style of working and my approach - and decide if you think we can build a good therapeutic relationship based on trust.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Master's Degree in Psychology and I had training in Systemic Therapy.

I am registered Counselling Psychologist with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

I participate in regular supervision and CPD training.

After graduating from university in 2008, I worked with migrants for a London based charity, with people experiencing severe mental health problems in a therapeutic community. I also have experience working with families and individuals affected by heath problems and disabilities. I now run my own private practice.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
