About me

Hi, I’m Jules.

I believe our past and present experiences can significantly contribute to the way we feel about ourselves and the world we live in. I have always felt passionate about the development and growth of the whole person.

As an integrative trained counsellor, I can support you on your journey of self-awareness through a variety of approaches and interventions. My perspective is that we are all unique and the support I can offer will be tailored to your specific needs.

My aim is to help my clients understand themselves better, cope with their difficulties, and manage their experiences as part of their personal growth and individual journey. Life takes everyone on a different path, with unique and individual experiences. I aim to provide people with the emotional tools they need to support themselves to help them feel more positivity about the path ahead and that they are able to help themselves navigate through difficult times.

Currently, I work in a school as a counsellor, as well as in my own private practice, and have been working for STARS Dorset for the last three years. In these different roles, I am able to help many different people and age groups along their journey, navigating how they feel about themselves and the world they live in. I have significant experience in trauma-informed counselling and counselling for children and young people.

I have worked with children from age six as well as teenagers and adults. I have always found working with young people rewarding and inspiring. With much of the experience I have acquired throughout my career as a teacher as well as a counsellor and as an experienced teacher and mindfulness practitioner.

I understand that people's lives may be busy and you may wish to access support flexibly for which I can offer online sessions if that would be preferable to face to face.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
