About me

I offer a warm, safe and confidential space for you to slowly explore and process any difficulties you are experiencing. Any unwanted negative thoughts and feelings that maybe troubling you and preventing you from moving forward. I work with a variety of issues and conditions including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, loss and bereavement, work and relationship issues and couples.

Being listened to and accepted for who you truly are, can feel empowering. When we are unable to share our true thoughts and feelings it can affect our behaviours. We can become stuck, feel lonely and isolated. Unprocessed overwhelming feelings and events can manifest into conditions such as anxiety and depression.

Stepping into the counselling relationship can feel scary and uncertain. I am here to gently guide and support you on your journey. My approach is holistic and intuitive. I will work with you to support your personal growth and to help you to become more aware and conscious of your emotions that may feel confusing and overwhelming.

Being a integrative counsellor means that I use different psychological theories to meet your individual needs. This may include Transactional Analysis, Attachment based, CBT, or Psychodynamic approaches, with the core of my work being Person Centred. This is beneficial for both short and long term therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have both personal and professional experience in working autism, ADHD and  neurodiversity. I have worked in a voluntary role providing counselling for  carers. From my own experiences, this is an area I feel passionate about supporting, as caring roles can feel overwhelming, lonely and exhausting. Feelings, such as loss and sadness can be difficult to process alone.

I have specialised training and working experience in counselling people who have suffered sexual assault and abuse, complex trauma and PTSD.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
